The rebuilt bathroom is now up and running. The shower in particular is lovely.
The whole ground floor is now tiled and looks great.
Today the work surfaces were fitted.
The island unit awaits its marble slab.
Granite, wood and enamelled cast iron looking pretty harmonious.
While outside the lower patio is done
The garden lobby - looking towards the new secondary front door.
The master suite bathroom virtually done, as yet untested.
Hardly a girl's room is it?
Meanwhile outside, the old wood and plastic shelter outside the back door has gone!
And in the wine cellar, I have finally started bricklaying.
New garage doors went in yesterday - we are not entirely happy that one is 2 inches lower than the other.
We are hoping to take possession of the full top floor on Monday the second.
Meanwhile the observatory progresses. These two pictures show the shed on its rails and the telescope on its pier. There are two steel girders buried in the ground but there is a surprising amount of flexing in the large one once 70lbs of telescope is perched a few feet above it. You can see the slot in the floor and the (white) duct which carries the cables from the shed to the telescope. The thin black cable is an armoured 240volt supply and just below it is another 40mm duct which leads back to the house.
